Pakistan Boat Rally and Fishing Association (PBRFA) successfully organized season two of the mega boat rally in February this year.

Following the success of Pakistan Boat Rally's first season in 2021, PBRFA continued its efforts to promote ocean sports in Pakistan.

Boaters from across the country participated in season one which boosted confidence in organisers to continue with another season.

Boaters sailed from Karachi to Astola Island. The event took place from February 17 to 19. Due to limited time of suitable weather for boating, the boat rally this year was restricted to Astola Island.

At the closing ceremony of the event that took place in Karachi on Saturday, PBRFA's president Ahmed Mamoor Amimi said that they have taken ocean sports in Pakistan to next level.

"We started this event with very few people and today whole Pakistan know about our effort," he said.

"This time, we explored Damb lagoon which is place where ocean meets desert. We were stunned to see this beautiful sight of Pakistan. We saw mangroves jungles and made memories there," he shared.

In collaboration with Pakistan Navy, PBRFA's boat rally featured four teams of boaters who showed their skills in the ocean. All four teams were presented with a shield as a token of appreciation during the closing ceremony.

"I would like to congratulate all our boaters for being a part of this initiative. We are surely the pioneers of ocean sports in Pakistan. We will try and make sure that ocean sports should go on next level," he mentioned.

On their way back, boaters also explored Charna Island near Karachi. They did diving and explored the beautiful sea.

'Season 3'

PBRFA wants to take boat rally at international level. Hence, they have decided to sail from Karachi to Muscat in November this year.

"In season one, we broke the world record of longest boat rally. This year, we will break our own record, we will sail all the way from Karachi to Muscat in November," he announced.

"We will pass through Charna Island, Damb Lagoon, Ormara Port, Astola Island, Surbandar and Gawadar Port, Pishukan Town, Jiwani and Chabahar in Iran. Our next boat rally will set next-level standards of ocean sports in Pakistan," he concluded.
